WakeUp Documentation

WakeUp is PC software developed with a goal of replacing tabletop alarm clocks with software that does the job much better. It is more flexible than any alarm clock available, and thanks to the multimedia revolution, it sounds much better on virtually any PC. If you're using a laptop computer, you probably need to connect external speakers for that benefit. Instead of waking up to radio advertising, you can use WakeUp to wake to your own selection of music or other sounds in any combination of .WAV, .MP3, and MIDI formats. WakeUp also lets you set up as many different alarms as you want, each with its own settings - waking up is only the start of the day.

As seen above, the main screen for WakeUp appears as a simple alarm clock. Simple, that is, for an alarm clock that knows the date, day of the week, and what song it is playing. The main screen was designed to look like a simple alarm clock to promote easy use of the application on a regular basis.

Note toward the top of the window, there are tabs labeled Alarm Clock, Alarms, Settings, About, and Documentation. Each of these tabs handles a specific feature set of WakeUp, and will be described thoroughly in this document. For general purposes, each is described in its own section of the documentation, accessible below.

If your installation of WakeUp shows long buttons like above at the bottom of every screen, you're probably wondering about them. These features are not among the basic alarm-related features of WakeUp. They operate nearly as if they were separate applications. Because of this, they are described later as Timers and Myoozick Player, respectively.

Alarm Clock This is the main display, as seen above. This is the active tab when WakeUp is first started, and is usually the preferred tab for general use.

Alarms The Alarms tab allows creation and modification of alarms (unlike most alarm clocks, there can be more than one alarm set, and each alarm has its own unique characteristics).

Timers The Timers tab facilitates management of saved timers. Timers can be used to time and document task, and the Timers tab enables you to prioritize these tasks.

Settings The Settings tab allows configuration of WakeUp's general options, not specific to any particular alarm.

Documentation If you're reading this document using WakeUp, you're seeing the documentation in the Documentation tab.

Timer This long button along the bottom of every WakeUp screen can be used to launch a Timer. Timers are quite useful in tracking task-related work, especially well suited for professionals who multitask a lot.

Myoozick Player This long button across every screen of WakeUp can be used to launch WakeUp's Myoozick Player, an MP3/WAV/MIDI player.
